Michael Goldberg (1924-2007) was a second generation American Abstract Expressionist painter and teacher known for his gestural action paintings, abstractions, and still life paintings. His greatest influence was Willem de Kooning�s use of fiery brushwork and explosive color. Goldberg�s work is in the collections of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York; Baltimore Museum of Art; Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, Virginia; De Cordova and Dana Museum, Lincoln, Massachusetts; and the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; among others.
