Ovadia Alkara (b. 1939) is an Israeli contemporary artist whose work reflects themes of struggle for survival in a chaotic world and the friction between humans and their environment. After serving in the army, Alkara studied at the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris and has since exhibited widely in Israel, Germany, and New York. His work can be found in many public and private collections, including: Israel Museum, Jerusalem; Haifa Museum of Modern Art; Ministry of Education and Culture, Israel; The Hirshhorn Museum, Washington DC; and the Museum of St. Paul, Minnesota. Alkara splits his time between New York, Dusseldorf, and the Ein Hod Artists Village in Israel. |
